A lot has changed since the existence of mankind. So much created, discovered and destroyed. The journey from a couple to a family and then to civilization is not a simple one but an enormous and intricate ride. Travelling all the way through this man has done splendid things but also ruined many. He has developed emotions, relationships, ideas, innovation and has tuned up to be a civilized animal. This journey is base of our today’s continuation. And way of life formed from this is called culture.

Today we have come so far that hardly we remember of starting days. With our excogitation we have shaped an astonishing life full of desires, relations, customs, beliefs and affection. Gone are the days of loneliness, now we have a crowd around us from conception till last breath.

But this journey is not that blissful as it has created crime and wickedness also, normally with every good establishment there is also something bad formed. But wise men, great communities always learn from their past and get influence to counter this malice.

This voyage towards establishment of culture has given birth to our society, created religions and politics. Life has been so fast since last century that we have confined ourselves to our rooms and offices and friends, leaving our villages and towns behind. This distance from our customs, families, community has created a divide between a culture that is developed with investment of centuries in it. Hardly anyone, even elders know the customs our ancestors did during joyfull or sad events of life. Is this the right direction we are going? Are missing something while looking for new horizons.
Following Lines penned by a lyricist truly portray the present circumstances of Punjab:

Teeyan ate trinjana apa bhull gaye aa,
Western wale virse ute dul gaye aa,
Koi na sanu jane sabhyachar bina,
Charkha ronda vekhea mein muttiyar bina...

Bhul'de jaiye pindan sathan juhan nu,
Apne hathin pooria apan khoohan nu,
Talliyan wale balad si turde aar bina,
Charkha ronda vekhea mein muttiyar bina...

Chaatti vich madhaani ghum ghum vajj'di nahi,
Mohle di gal shaddo ukhli labh'di nahi,
Kahde asin punjabi assal nuhar bina,
Charkha ronda vekhea mein muttiyar bina...

This Website is a attempt to preserve Punjabi culture and providing as much as information about Punjabi living. We believe that whole Punjabi community will at hand to encourage what we are striving for.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!
